Self Managed Superannuation
This article provides general information about how Self Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) can access the Pay It Now platform once established.
Pay It Now is a blockchain platform operating in New Zealand and Australia, focused on providing infrastructure that enables access to supported digital asset services. Pay It Now does not provide financial product or superannuation advice.
Pay It Now has partnered with Tax on Chain, an Australian accounting firm that provides independent SMSF establishment, administration, and tax services. SMSF services are delivered by Tax on Chain under their own terms, and Pay It Now’s role is limited to platform onboarding once an SMSF exists.
SMSF Overview
An SMSF is a superannuation structure regulated under Australian law, where the members of the fund also act as trustees and are responsible for compliance, reporting, and decision making in accordance with applicable legislation.
Once an SMSF has been independently established and meets relevant requirements, it may be eligible to onboard to the PIN Network. The platform provides access to supported digital asset functionality, account visibility, and transaction records.
Accessing the PIN Network with an SMSF
After an SMSF has been established through an independent provider and the required information has been supplied, an SMSF account can be created on the PIN Network.
SMSF account holders can access, manage, and view account activity using the PIN Network mobile app or browser based WebApp.
Account Creation
For existing PIN Network users
Open the app and select “Create Account”.
Choose “Create Personal Account”.
Use a new email address that is not associated with an existing PIN account.
Use a different form of identification than previously submitted.
Ensure the account username matches the registered SMSF name.
If issues are encountered during verification, support assistance is available.
For new PIN Network users
Download the app and select “Create Account”.
Choose “Create Personal Account” and follow the prompts.
Ensure the account username matches the registered SMSF name.
Platform Functionality
The PIN Network provides SMSF account holders with access to platform functionality designed to support the management of supported digital assets.
This includes the ability to:
• View balances and transaction history
• Deposit and withdraw supported assets
• Exchange supported digital assets
• Access the platform at any time via mobile or web
All actions are initiated by the account holder and subject to platform processes and applicable compliance requirements.
Pay It Now does not manage SMSF investments or make decisions on behalf of SMSF trustees.
Withdrawals and Reporting
Funds held on the platform can be transferred back to the registered SMSF bank account in accordance with standard processes.
Transaction history and account activity can be downloaded in CSV format to assist with record keeping and reconciliation. SMSF trustees and their appointed accountants or administrators remain responsible for tax reporting and compliance obligations.
